Reclaiming Your Bigness After Shrinking for Love, Approval, or Survival
There comes a momentâquiet but holyâwhen you stop asking,
âIs it okay if I take up space?â
And instead, you whisper to yourself,
âI was born to take it.â
Welcome to your liberation chapter, brave and radiant one.
The one where you remember the truth that was always yours:
You were never too much.
They were just too undercooked to handle the feast of you.
Â
For yearsâmaybe your whole lifeâyou were told to tone it down.
Tone down the way you speak.
The way you love.
The way you cry at commercials like itâs a full moon inside your heart.
The way you feel a song like it was written just for your breakup in 2014.
They called you:
âToo emotional.â
âToo intense.â
âToo spiritual.â
âToo loud.â
âToo dramatic.â
âToo ambitious.â
âToo much.â
As if your soul came with a volume knob they were entitled to control.
But hereâs what they didnât realize:
Your too-much-ness was never the problem.
It was a mirror.
And some people? Theyâre terrified of mirrorsâespecially when they havenât done their emotional exfoliation.
Â
We shrink because it feels safer.
We learn early that brightness gets punishedâ
that if you shine too loud, people either mock you, ghost you, or hand you a trophy and then disappear.
So we become âeasierâ versions of ourselves:
More polite. More digestible. More beige.
We filter our souls like an Instagram postâŠ
And wonder why we still feel invisible.
But dimming yourself doesnât lead to love.
It leads to resentmentâand eventually, migraines.
Shrinking doesnât lead to belonging.
It leads to spiritual claustrophobia.
Â
Letâs go back to where the last section left usâhovering in the sacred in-between.
Youâve let go of the ones who couldnât hold your full selfâŠ
but your full self hasnât landed yet either.
Itâs awkward.
Like a soul puberty phase.
And hereâs the kicker:
When life finally starts giving you what you prayed forâ
peace, time, space, real supportâ
You might flinch.
You might self-sabotage.
You might miss the chaos because at least it felt familiar.
Why?
Because joy can feel suspicious when youâre used to being the emotional first responder in every room.
But hear this clearly:
That feeling of discomfort?
Thatâs not fear.
Thatâs you recalibrating to joy.
Stay with it.
Donât call your ex just because Mercuryâs in retrograde and your bed feels too big.
Â
Starting now, we donât apologize for our sparkle.
We donât justify our tears.
We donât shrink just because someone else is emotionally lactose intolerant.
The real you?
Sheâs not too much.
Sheâs the whole damn storyline.
The book. The audiobook. The sequel.
The bold title and the plot twist.
And if someone closes the book early?
Well, thatâs just not their chapter.
Â
Grab a snack. Be honest. Maybe yell-cry into a pillow. All of itâs valid.
đ Donât Go Back
Right nowâyes, right nowâyou may be tempted to text someone who once made you feel like your soul was âa bit much.â
Donât do it.
Put. The. Phone. Down.
You didnât come this far just to recolor your life with the same trauma crayons you already threw away in Section 4.
You are not here to audition for acceptance.
You are here to take up divine space.
Repeat this out loud like itâs holy (because it is):
âI donât have fear. I have faith.â
Â
(Tie-In to Sections 4, 5 & 6)
Youâve already dropped the guilt-gray, fear-brown, and shame-black.
Youâre painting with courage-gold, compassion-green, and peace-blue now.
Now?
You learn that you are not too muchâyou are more than ready.
You are a rising frequency.
A lighthouse.
A no-longer-apologizing masterpiece in motion.
Â
âš End-of-Section Affirmations
Say them with sass. With softness. With spine.

One response to “Section 9: You Were Never Too Much (They Were Just Unprepared) – Guide 1”
This section would be incredibly helpful for anyone who has ever been told to âchillâ or âbe lessâ just to keep the peace. It spoke to me on a deep level because it made me want to show up fully as myself, without shrinking or hiding parts of who I am. It reminded me that my voice and presence matter, and that I deserve to exist authentically in every space.
For anyone who struggles with feeling silenced or pressured to dim their light, this section offers encouragement to stand strong and embrace their true self. Itâs a powerful reminder that peace does not require losing yourself but comes from being genuine and unapologetic.
