(aka… stop asking the world for permission to be yourself)
Let’s be honest for a second…
Some of your “decisions”?
👉 Weren’t actually your decisions.
They were:
👉 You didn’t choose.
👉 You… submitted for approval. 😅📩
(welcome to the group chat era)
You ever:
Now suddenly you’re confused.
Because now it’s:
And you’re sitting there like:
👉 “Wait… what did I even want?” 😭
Exactly.
👉 You lost your voice in a committee meeting you didn’t even need to attend.
There’s a difference between:
👉 living your life
and
👉 auditioning for it
Performing looks like:
Aligning looks like:
👉 Performing gets applause. 👏
👉 Alignment gets peace. 😌
And unfortunately…
👉 peace is quiet.
So people ignore it… and go chase noise instead 😅
Because at some point you learned:
👉 “Trusting myself might be risky.”
So you replaced it with:
👉 “Let me see what everyone else thinks first.”
Feels safer.
More logical.
More… socially approved. 😌
But also?
👉 Way more confusing.
Because now your life is built on:
And you’re over here like:
👉 “Why does this not feel right?” 😅
(no audience required)
This is where things shift.
You stop asking:
👉 “Does this make sense to everyone?”
And start asking:
👉 “Does this make sense to me?”
You stop needing:
Because you trust:
👉 “If it feels aligned… I’ll figure it out.”
Not perfectly.
Not without mistakes.
👉 But without abandoning yourself.
Some of your best decisions…
👉 won’t make sense to other people.
They’ll look at you like:
👉 “…you sure about that?” 😅
Meanwhile you’re like:
👉 “Not fully… but also yes.” 😏
👉 That’s self-trust.
Not certainty.
👉 Just… choosing yourself anyway.
(this one might humble you a little 😌)
Next time you’re about to decide something…
Pause.
And ask yourself:
👉 “Would I choose this if nobody knew?”
No audience.
No opinions.
No approval.
👉 Just you.
If your answer changes?
👉 Congratulations. 🎉
👉 You just caught yourself performing. 🤣
(freeing… and a little uncomfortable)
👉 You don’t need more advice.
👉 You need more honesty with yourself.
Because when you trust yourself:
👉 You’re allowed to choose what feels right.
Even if it’s not popular.
Even if it’s not understood.
Even if it’s just… quieter.
Because at the end of the day?
👉 You’re the one living your life.
Not the group chat.
Not the opinions.
Not the committee. 😏🔥
