🧭 Section Four: You Are Not Late

There is no universal age at which your life is supposed to begin.

Some people know what they want frighteningly young.

Wonderful.

Others build one life and discover another inside it.

Wonderful.

Some raise children first.

Some build careers first.

Some start businesses at fifty.

Some discover art after retirement.

Some change professions three times.

Some never find one enormous calling because their life contains twenty smaller ones.

Also wonderful.

Comparison makes us confuse somebody else’s Chapter Twelve with our Chapter Three.

Stop doing that to yourself.

You don’t know their whole story.

And they don’t know yours.

Your job isn’t to arrive according to somebody else’s schedule.

Your job is to remain awake enough to recognize opportunity when your life introduces you to it.

You aren’t late if you’re still becoming.

đŸŽ„ You’ve Seen This Before: Carl Fredricksen — Up

Carl thought he knew what his great adventure would look like.

He would go to Paradise Falls with Ellie.

Then life happened.

Work.

Bills.

Marriage.

Ordinary Tuesday afternoons.

And eventually loss.

By the time Carl finally begins the adventure, it looks nothing like the one he imagined.

But the deeper revelation is even more beautiful:

The life with Ellie was already an adventure.

And his story still wasn’t finished after hers ended.

That’s why Carl belongs here.

Sometimes the dream changes.

Sometimes the person changes.

Sometimes the timing changes.

Different doesn’t mean late.
