(aka… your nervous system is doing the absolute most)
Let’s clear something up real quick before you diagnose yourself with:
👉 “I guess this is just who I am now.” 😅
👉 You’re not crazy.
👉 You’re not “too much.”
👉 You’re not waking up every day choosing chaos for fun like it’s a hobby.
👉 Your body is just… stressed.
And not cute, “I need a weekend getaway” stressed.
More like:
👉 “Why does answering this email feel like I’m about to be hunted for sport?” stressed. 😅
(you’re not the villain, relax)
All those things you’ve been side-eyeing yourself for?
👉 That’s not you being “a lot.”
👉 That’s your nervous system screaming:
“WE ARE NOT OKAY 😭”
Your body’s favorite overprotective aunt.
Cortisol means well.
If there were an actual lion?
You’d be like:
👉 “Thank you ma’am, appreciate the urgency.” 🏃♀️
She’d be yelling:
👉 “RUN. NOW. WE ARE NOT DISCUSSING THIS. THIS IS NOT A MEETING.” 😭
But the problem is…
👉 Your body can’t tell the difference between:
So it reacts the same way to all of it.
Now you’re sitting there like:
👉 “Why am I tense over something so small?”
Your body:
👉 “SMALL WHERE??? WE ARE FIGHTING FOR OUR LIFE.” 🤣
When your body doesn’t feel safe, everything feels like a big deal.
Suddenly:
This is why you can:
…and still act like your past self clocked in for a shift.
👉 Because you’re trying to be calm…
in a body that thinks it’s in a Netflix survival documentary.
Your brain is like:
👉 “Best I can do is panic and overanalyze.” 😅
(don’t worry, nobody’s testing you)
Let’s make this very real for a second.
You wake up already a little tired.
You check your phone.
Boom.
A message, an email, a notification… something slightly off.
Your body immediately goes:
Cortisol:
👉 “Okay. Something’s wrong. We don’t know what it is yet, but we don’t like it. Stay alert.” 😳🚨
Now you’re a little tense.
Your brain starts doing the thing…
Cortisol (again):
👉 “Let’s replay every possible scenario just in case this ruins our life.” 😅
So now you’re:
So what do you do?
You grab your phone again.
Scroll. Refresh. Scroll. Refresh.
Dopamine:
👉 “Ooh yes… distraction. This feels better. Let’s stay here.” 📱😌
And for a second?
👉 It does feel better.
…but nothing actually got resolved.
Meanwhile…
Serotonin is in the corner like:
👉 “Hey… we’re actually okay right now. Nothing is happening. We could just… breathe?” 😌
And you’re like:
👉 “Not now. I’m busy spiraling and scrolling.” 😅
So now you’re stuck in this loop:
…and you’re wondering why your body feels tense all day.
That’s why you feel like:
👉 Because your system isn’t broken…
👉 it’s just running a stress + distraction cycle on repeat.
So if you’ve been:
👉 Your body is basically running a survival marathon… on a random Tuesday.
Of course you feel off.
(we need to talk about this 😅)
At some point your body said:
👉 “Hey… we’re not 19 anymore. We’re gonna need better management.” 😌
Things that didn’t bother you before?
Now they’re like:
👉 “Hi, I’d like to personally ruin your peace today.” 😅
Not because you’re weak.
👉 Because your body upgraded… and you’re still trying to run old software.
Your body isn’t betraying you.
👉 It’s sending feedback like:
“We cannot keep living like this. Respectfully.” 🤣
I know… you tried.
Meanwhile your body is like:
👉 “Choose survival instead.” 😭
You can’t mindset your way out of a stressed body.
That’s like trying to calm down during a fire alarm by whispering:
👉 “Everything is fine.”
Your nervous system:
👉 “ABSOLUTELY NOT.” 🚨
So before we fix your thoughts…
👉 We calm your body.
Because when your body chills out:
(no lecture, just honesty)
👉 Your body is not against you.
It’s just… doing the most.
Overprotecting.
Overreacting.
Overworking.
Like:
👉 “Let me stress us out just in case.” 😅
👉 Your job isn’t to fight it.
👉 Your job is to show it:
“Hey… we’re actually okay now.”
And when your body starts believing that?
👉 Everything softens.
Not perfect.
Not magical.
👉 But finally… manageable.
And honestly?
👉 That’s already a huge win. 🔥✨
