Can we normalize something?
Please?
ā¤ļø
Not everyone is going to celebrate the person youāre becoming.
ā¦
That doesnāt automatically mean youāre doing something wrong.
Sometimesā¦
it means youāre doing something different.
And differentā¦
makes people uncomfortable.
š” Light Reveals Things
Imagine walking into a dark roomā¦
and turning on the lights.
The room didnāt become messy.
You just noticed the mess.
š
Growth works the same way.
Sometimesā¦
your peace reminds someone of their chaos.
Your boundaries remind them of the ones they never set.
Your confidence reminds them of the dreams they abandoned.
Your happiness reminds themā¦
that theyāve been surviving instead of living.
Thatās uncomfortable.
Not because of you.
Because light reveals things.
šŖ People See Themselves Through You
Hereās something fascinating.
Two people can meet the exact same version of youā¦
and have completely different experiences.
One person says,
āYouāre inspiring.ā
Another says,
āYouāve changed.ā
One says,
āIām so happy for you.ā
Another quietly hopes you fail.
Same person.
Different mirror.
š
People donāt always respond to who you are.
Sometimesā¦
they respond to what your life reflects back to them.
š Stop Shrinking to Make Other People Comfortable
Have you ever noticedā¦
how quickly we apologizeā¦
for taking up space?
āIām sorryā¦ā
āI donāt want to bother youā¦ā
āI know this might sound stupidā¦ā
āI probably shouldnātā¦ā
š¤£
Meanwhileā¦
thereās always one person confidently explaining somethingā¦
thatās completely wrong.
š
Life has a strange sense of humor.
The people who question themselves the mostā¦
are often the people who have the most to offer.
š± Your Growth Changes the Room
This part surprised me.
I thought changing myselfā¦
would only change me.
It didnāt.
It changed every room I walked into.
Some conversations disappeared.
Some friendships became stronger.
Some opportunities suddenly appeared.
Some people quietly drifted away.
Not because I became better.
Because I becameā¦
more honest.
And honesty has a funny way of rearranging furniture.
š
š The Thermostat Theory
Letās imagine youāre in a room.
One person is always cold.
Another is always hot.
Someone eventually says,
āCan you change the thermostat?ā
š¤£
Now imagine trying to make everyone happy.
One person wants it at 65°.
Another wants it at 78°.
Someone else brought a blanket.
Another brought a fan.
Congratulations.
Youāve just become the emotional thermostat.
Exhausting, isnāt it?
Hereās the secret.
You were never supposed to control everyone elseās temperature.
Just your own.
ā¤ļø
š Donāt Confuse Kindness With Disappearing
This one took me years.
Kindnessā¦
doesnāt require invisibility.
You can be kindā¦
and still say no.
You can be compassionateā¦
and still leave.
You can be lovingā¦
and still choose yourself.
Those things are not opposites.
Theyāre maturity.
š¦ Light Doesnāt Ask Permission
Have you ever seen the sunriseā¦
pause halfway over the horizon and ask,
āIs everyone okay with this?ā
š
No.
It rises.
Not to prove anything.
Not to compete.
Not to steal attention.
Because thatās simply what light does.
Imagine how exhausting it would beā¦
if the sun spent every morning reading comments.
š¤£
šæ Closing Reflection
Ask yourselfā¦
Where am I still making myself smallerā¦
ā¦so someone else doesnāt have to adjust?
Then ask something even more important.
If I stopped shrinkingā¦
ā¦who would finally get to meet the real me?
Because your light was never meant to blind people.
It was meant to help you see.
And the people who truly belong in your lifeā¦
wonāt ask you to shine less.
Theyāll quietly pull up a chairā¦
and enjoy the sunrise with you.
