(aka⦠just because you get along with someone doesnāt mean theyāre your people š)
Can I tell you somethingā¦
that wouldāve saved me years of emotional confusion?
Ready?
ā¤ļø
Not everyone you loveā¦
ā¦is meant to walk beside the version of you youāre becoming.
ā¦
That doesnāt make them bad.
And it doesnāt make you selfish.
It just makes youā¦
human.
š Chemistry Isnāt Compatibility
Have you ever met someoneā¦
and instantly clicked?
You finish each otherās sentences.
You laugh at the same jokes.
You can talk for hours.
Amazing.
ā¦
Then three months laterā¦
youāre emotionally exhausted.
š¤£
Because chemistry answers one question.
āCan we connect?ā
Compatibility asks a different one.
āCan we build a peaceful life together?ā
Those are not the same thing.
š Some People Were Meant for the Ocean
Think back to the first guide.
The ocean.
The waves.
The survival.
Some people met you there.
They knew the version of youā¦
who was constantly rescuing.
Constantly fixing.
Constantly proving.
Thatās the version they connected with.
Now youāre standing on the shore.
And theyāre wonderingā¦
why you donāt swim anymore.
š
Theyāre not wrong.
Theyāre remembering a different version of you.
šŖ“ Peace Has a Different Frequency
Something interesting happensā¦
when your nervous system starts healing.
You begin noticing thingsā¦
you never noticed before.
Conversations that leave you drained.
People who only call when life is on fire.
Relationships built entirely on complaining.
The friend who somehow turns every coffee dateā¦
into a three-hour hostage negotiation.
š¤£
Nothing changed overnight.
You just stopped confusingā¦
familiarityā¦
with compatibility.
ā¤ļø Your People Feel Different
You know youāre around your peopleā¦
when you donāt feel like youāre auditioning.
You donāt have to prove youāre smart enough.
Funny enough.
Successful enough.
Spiritual enough.
Productive enough.
You donāt have to perform.
You justā¦
exist.
And somehowā¦
thatās enough.
Imagine that.
š
šŖ Some Relationships Expire
I know.
Nobody likes hearing that.
Especially me.
Because I wanted every meaningful relationshipā¦
to last forever.
Turns outā¦
some people are chapters.
Not the whole book.
That doesnāt mean they failed.
Have you ever thanked a teacherā¦
even though they werenāt your teacher forever?
Exactly.
People can change your lifeā¦
without staying in it.
š The Group Project From Hell
You remember group projects in school?
š¤£
There was always:
The one who did everything.
The one who disappeared.
The one who suddenly became very interestedā¦
the night before it was due.
The one who contributedā¦
moral support.
š
Relationships can be like that too.
Some people help you build.
Some people watch you build.
Some people accidentally knock over the wallā¦
and then ask why youāre upset.
Your job isnāt to hate them.
Your job is to stop handing them the blueprint.
š± Compatibility Feels Surprisingly Calm
This surprised me the most.
I used to think the best relationshipsā¦
felt intense.
Nowā¦
I think the healthiest onesā¦
feel peaceful.
You donāt constantly wonder where you stand.
You donāt rehearse conversations in the shower.
You donāt spend three days decoding a text messageā¦
like youāre solving an ancient prophecy.
š¤£
You simplyā¦
feel safe.
Not bored.
Not disconnected.
Safe.
Thereās a difference.
š Build Around the People Who Water You
Think about a garden.
Some people are flowers.
Beautiful.
Temporary.
Some are butterflies.
They visit.
Then continue their journey.
Some are weeds.
Iāll let you identify those on your own.
š
And thenā¦
there are the people who quietly help you grow.
They donāt compete with your light.
They donāt resent your peace.
They celebrate your winsā¦
without making them about themselves.
Those are your gardeners.
Keep them close.
ā¤ļø
šæ Closing Reflection
Ask yourselfā¦
Who helps me become more like myselfā¦
ā¦instead of more like the version everyone expects?
Who leaves my nervous system calmerā¦
instead of more confused?
Who celebrates my growthā¦
instead of quietly mourning the person I used to be?
Those are your people.
Not because they agree with everything you do.
Not because theyāre perfect.
But because your peaceā¦
doesnāt threaten theirs.
And maybeā¦
thatās what compatibility was all along.
Not finding people who make your life more excitingā¦
Finding people who make it feel more like home.
